Ezine
An Ezine is an electronic based magazine that can be viewed at a website, or via an email newsletter. It has articles and stories and will usually be highly targeted to the recipient’s interests and activities.
HTML Email
An HTML Email is created and formatted using Hypertext Markup Language. This allows the inclusion of images and specific fonts and colour schemes. An HTML email will often follow a corporate look so the recipient can make a visual link between the online and offline marketing activity of the company or person who sent it.
Opt-In
A recipient must have formally requested to be sent an email, usually via a small tick box as part of the terms and conditions. This then becomes part of a Permission Based Marketing programme because you have been invited to send information to the recipient.
Opt-Out
Opt-Out is considered to be very close to Spamming by many Internet users. It requires you to say that you do not want to be sent any email, rather than requesting it. It assumes permission unless otherwise told by the user which is why it is considered far less ethical than Opt-In.
