Keyword
A keyword is a word or search term that is entered into a search engine by a user when performing a search.
Keyword Density
Keyword density is the frequency of use of a keyword or search term in the Web page. The keywords density includes all indexable text such as the hidden text used in the HEAD and the visible text used in the BODY of the Web page. Again, there is a fine line between high levels of keyword density and Spam.
Keyword Research
Keyword Research is important as it will help find out all the keywords relating to your website, and also your competitors. It will help you understand how potential customers search for your product or service, and which are the most popular terms. With this knowledge you can make sure these keywords are included in your Web pages, and help improve your natural ranking in the search engines.
Keyword Stuffing
Keyword Stuffing refers to the practice of adding loads of keywords into the HEAD of a webpage, or into the BODY or content. Web pages were mean’t to be read – not just for a crawler/spider/bot to index. If it’s unreadable – start again!
Keyword Targeting
Keyword targeting is based on identifying keywords that you, or your customer, wish to be found on, and creating a set of PPC adverts, or web pages, to help you achieve this level of visibility.
Keywords Tag
META tag used to help define the primary keywords of a Web page.
This is a META tag, which is used in the HEAD so that you can include the most important keywords that you would like to be found on by the search engines and their users.
